This accessory is used while playing seated (in a chair for cello or on a stool for double bass) and works by anchoring your instrument’s endpin to one leg of your chair or stool. Simple to set up and use, the rugged strap features a metal ring at one end, an endpin slot at the other, and an adjustable slide buckle in the middle. The metal ring is attached to your seat by lifting one leg of the chair or stool and placing it down inside the ring. The slot at the other end accepts your instrument’s endpin and uses your weight to keep the endpin from sliding away from you during performances, rehearsals, lessons, or recording sessions. The cylindrical shape of the slot matches the shape of the endpin, surrounding it on all sides to prevent the pin from slipping out. Nonslip rubber padding on the bottom of the slot’s base not only ensures that the instrument stays firmly in place, but also protects wooden and other hard flooring from scratches and dents caused by skidding endpins. To enable you to dial in just the right distance and tilt angle for your instrument, the strap length can be adjusted from 16.5 to 30 inches using the slide buckle.
